100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Goa (2026–27): How to Choose the Best One

Published By Miss Soniya Rangher

Choosing the Best 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Goa has four things: a Yoga Alliance Registered School, 10 students or fewer, a syllabus that goes beyond asana, and booking terms in writing. It should also let your hours count toward a full 200 hour yoga teacher training later, so nothing you learn is wasted.

Goa is one of India’s busiest places to train, and Arambol alone has dozens of schools. Prices start from a few hundred dollars, and the listings blur together. This guide, written by the teaching team at Diksha Yoga School, shows you what to check, the red flags to avoid and the questions to ask before you pay. Explore our yoga teacher training courses in Goa, meet our experienced yoga teachers, and check our course schedule and fees before making your decision.

What a 100 hour yoga teacher training in Goa is, and what it isn’t

A 100 hour yoga teacher training in Goa is a short, residential immersion, usually 10 to 14 days. It covers the same core subjects as a 200 hour yoga teacher training course (asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, anatomy and teaching methodology) at roughly half the depth.

It is a good fit if you want to:

  • Deepen your own practice in a structured way
  • Find out whether teacher training suits you before committing to a full month
  • Refresh your foundations as an existing teacher
  • Add yoga, breathwork and meditation to a wellness or fitness career

Be clear about one thing before you book. Yoga Alliance registers teachers from the 200 hour level up. To register as an RYT 200, you must complete a full 200 hour training with one Registered Yoga School, and hours from separate trainings cannot be combined (Yoga Alliance).

That rule matters when you choose a school. If you might go on to teach, pick a Yoga Alliance Registered School like Diksha Yoga School and explore its 100-hour and 200-hour yoga teacher training courses in Goa. school whose 100 hours count toward its own 200 hour course. Otherwise you may have to start again from zero.

100 hour vs 200 hour yoga teacher training: which should you book?

Choose the 100 hour course if you want depth and a taste of teaching in under two weeks. Choose the 200 hour course if you already know you want to teach professionally.

Why Goa? How it compares with India’s other yoga hubs

Goa is the choice if you want a beach setting, an international community and easy access, between November and May. Rishikesh suits a mountain, ashram-style experience; Kerala suits Ayurveda.

North Goa or South Goa?

North Goa’s Arambol, Mandrem and Morjim are the heart of Goa’s yoga scene, with many schools, cafés and a strong international community. Arambol in particular is known for its long beach, sunsets and relaxed, creative atmosphere. It is also about 30 km from Mopa Airport (GOX).

South Goa’s Agonda and Palolem are quieter and slower, but further from Mopa and closer to Dabolim Airport (GOI).

If you want a strong yoga community and an easy arrival, North Goa is the natural choice.

How to choose a 100 hour yoga teacher training in Goa: 8 things to compare

1. 1. The school’s Yoga Alliance registration

Check that the school is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School (RYS) and at which levels. Many Goa listings say “Yoga Alliance standards based” or “certified” without being registered. Search the school’s name in the Yoga Alliance directory rather than trusting a logo.

2. Whether your hours carry forward

Ask directly: if I continue, do these 100 hours count toward your 200 hour yoga teacher training in Goa? Because Yoga Alliance requires all 200 hours from one school, this decides whether your first course is a step forward or a dead end. Explore the 100 hour yoga teacher training in Goa and ask the school about its progression options.

3. Who actually teaches you

A famous founder on the homepage does not always mean that person is in the shala. Ask who leads your batch and what their credentials are. E-RYT 500 is Yoga Alliance’s most senior teacher designation; YACEP means a teacher is approved to provide continuing education to other teachers. You can also explore Diksha Yoga School’s teaching team.

4. Group size

Some Goa schools take 30, 40 or even 50 students a batch. In 11 days, that means following along rather than being corrected. Look for a stated maximum of 10 to 12.

5. A balanced syllabus and timetable

Look for every core subject, taught daily, and ask for the hour-by-hour schedule:

  • Hatha and Vinyasa practice, with alignment and adjustments
  • Pranayama and cleansing practices (shatkarma)
  • Meditation
  • Yoga philosophy, including Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
  • Anatomy applied to real postures
  • Teaching methodology and supervised teaching practice

Explore the 100-hour course curriculum in Goa to understand the subjects included.

6. Season and setting

Goa’s training season runs roughly from October to May; most schools close for the June to September monsoon. Also check how close the venue is to the beach and whether it is away from the party areas. Check official Goa Tourism information when planning your travel dates.

7. What the fee really includes

A low headline price often means meals, rooms or transfers are extra. Confirm the room type, meals per day, manual, certificate and whether airport pickup is included, and from which airport. Compare the Goa course fees and schedule and check the 100-hour Goa course details.

8. Fair booking terms

Good schools state in writing how much the deposit is, when the balance is due, whether the deposit is refundable and whether you can move to another date. Review the course schedule and fees and contact Diksha Yoga School to confirm the booking terms.

5 red flags to avoid when booking

Walk away, or at least ask harder questions, if you see any of these:

Walk away, or at least ask harder questions, if you see any of these:

  1. “Yoga Alliance certified teacher” after 100 hours. RYT registration starts at 200 hours from one school.
  2. “Yoga Alliance standards based” instead of “registered“. It usually means the school is not on the register.
  3. Batches of 30 or more. Personal feedback is the point of a short course.
  4. A price that seems too low. Check what is left out: meals, a shared dorm, no pickup, extra exam fees.
  5. Pressure to pay in full now. Reputable schools take a deposit and give you the terms in writing.

10 questions to ask any school before you pay

Copy these into your first message to every school you are considering.

  1. Are you a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School, and at which levels?
  2. Do these 100 hours count toward your 200 hour training?
  3. Who will lead my batch, and what are their credentials?
  4. What is the maximum number of students?
  5. Can you send the hour-by-hour daily schedule?
  6. Will I teach during the course and get feedback?
  7. How many meals a day are included, and is the food vegetarian?
  8. Is airport pickup included, and from Mopa or Dabolim?
  9. How much is the deposit, and when is the balance due?
  10. What happens if I need to change my dates?

Goa is where Diksha Yoga School began: our main branch is at The Lotus Sutra on Arambol Beach, and it is where our founder’s own training started. Here is how the course answers the checklist.

Our philosophy is simple. As Yogini Manisha puts it, flexible yoga teachers are easy to find; meditative, authentic ones are not. That is what these 11 days are designed to build.

“A Beautiful and Transformative Yoga Experience in Goa”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Name: Emma Wilson
Country: United Kingdom 🇬🇧
Date: 18 April 2026

I had a wonderful experience during my 100-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Diksha Yoga School in Goa. The teachers were knowledgeable, supportive and passionate about yoga. I especially enjoyed learning Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, pranayama and meditation. The Lotus Sutra was a beautiful place to stay, with a peaceful atmosphere and delicious vegetarian meals. The small group made the experience more personal, and I received helpful guidance throughout the course. I would highly recommend Diksha Yoga School to anyone looking to deepen their yoga practice in Goa.
