Yoga Teacher Training in Goa Cost 2026–27: Fees & Budget
Quick answer: the yoga teacher training in Goa cost for a residential 200 hour course is usually €900 to €3,000. Once you add flights, an Indian e-visa, insurance and spending money, most international students budget €2,500 to €3,500 in total for the month.
If you’re searching for prices, you’re probably close to booking. So this guide doesn’t stop at the headline fee. It breaks down what a 200 hour YTT in Goa really costs in 2026–27: the course fee, what it includes, accommodation, visa, flights, and the small costs most schools never mention.
We’ll use our own 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Goa at Diksha Yoga School as a worked example, because we can show you every number honestly.

What to Expect From a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Goa
How payment works
- A 30% deposit reserves your place (€540 shared / €600 private).
- The balance is due 15 days before the course starts.
- You can pay by bank transfer, card, PayPal, Wise or cash.
- The deposit is non-refundable. In an emergency you can move to another batch if you tell us at least 45 days before your start date.
What do other 200 hour YTTs in Goa cost?
Most residential 200 hour courses in Goa fall between €900 and €3,000. On listing sites in 2026 you’ll see 23-day packages from around €900, 21-day Hatha and Ashtanga courses in Mandrem around $2,100, and specialist Yin trainings close to $2,900.
| Price band | What you usually get |
| Under €1,200 | Larger groups, basic shared rooms, sometimes meals or pickup not included |
| €1,200 – €2,200 | Small or mid-size groups, private or twin rooms, 3 meals, Yoga Alliance RYS |
| Over €2,200 | Boutique venues, specialist styles (Yin, therapy), well-known lead trainers |
What drives the price
- Group size. A batch of 10 costs more per student than a batch of 30, but you get far more feedback on your teaching.
- Room type. Private rooms usually add €150–€400.
- What’s bundled. Meals, airport pickup, excursions and the manual can each be included or charged separately.
- Lead trainer experience. An E-RYT 500 with 16+ years of teaching is not the same as a newly certified teacher.
- Venue. Beachfront in North Goa costs more than an inland guesthouse.
Tip: compare the total cost for the month, not the headline fee. A €1,100 course without meals or transfers can end up costing more than a €1,800 all-inclusive one.
Accommodation: shared or private room?
At Diksha, accommodation is already inside the course fee, so the only choice is room type: a private room costs €200 more than a twin-shared room for the full 22 nights (about €9 a night).
- Twin-shared room (€1,800): best value, and many students enjoy sharing the journey with a classmate.
- Private room (€2,000): worth it if you’re a light sleeper, need quiet study time, or are travelling with a partner who isn’t training.

If you choose a school where accommodation is not included, budget for it separately. A clean guesthouse room in Arambol in peak season (Dec–Jan) usually runs well above off-season rates, and you’ll also need to cover meals, which can add a few hundred euros over a month.
Arriving early or staying on after the course? Arambol has rooms and cafés for every budget, and we’re happy to suggest places on WhatsApp. See our Food & Accommodation page for photos of the rooms.
India visa cost for a yoga teacher training
Most students can join a 23-day yoga course on an Indian e-Tourist Visa, which costs US$25 for 30 days for most nationalities between July and March, or US$10 between April and June, plus a 3% bank charge. The e-Tourist Visa covers short yoga programmes, so you don’t need a student visa.
| E-Tourist Visa (most nationalities) | Fee |
| 30 days, July – March (Nov–Mar batches) | US$25 |
| 30 days, April – June (Apr–May batches) | US$10 |
| 1 year, multiple entry | US$40 |
| 5 years, multiple entry (US citizens) | US$160 |
| 5 years, multiple entry (UK citizens) | US$484 |
| 5 years, multiple entry (most EU, Canada, Australia) | US$200 |
Fees are from the official Government of India fee schedule (updated September 2026). A few countries pay nothing, including Argentina, South Africa and Indonesia, so check your passport’s row before you pay.

Our advice:
- A 30-day visa is enough for the course, but leaves little room to travel. If you want to explore India afterwards, take the 1-year visa for US$40.
- Apply only on the official site, indianvisaonline.gov.in. Look-alike agent sites often charge several times the official fee for the same visa.
- Apply at least 1–2 weeks before you fly. Standard processing usually takes 3–5 days.
Flights and getting to Arambol
Flights are usually the biggest cost after the course fee. Fly into Mopa Airport (GOX), about 30 km and 45–60 minutes from our venue, or Dabolim (GOI), about 75–80 km and 2–2.5 hours away. Airport pickup from either airport is included in the Diksha fee.
As a rough guide, return economy fares to Goa (usually via Mumbai, Delhi, Doha, Dubai or Istanbul) are often in these ranges. Prices move a lot, so treat them as approximate:
| Flying from | Typical return fare (approx.) |
| Europe | €500 – €900 |
| UK | £450 – £850 |
| USA / Canada | US$900 – US$1,500 |
| Australia | A$1,200 – A$2,000 |
| Within India | ₹6,000 – ₹15,000 |
Ways to save on flights:
- Book 2–3 months ahead, especially for December and January batches around Christmas and New Year.
- Compare flying into Mopa and Dabolim. Both are covered by our pickup.
- If you’re coming by train, Pernem station is about 15–20 km away. Message us and we’ll help you plan the last stretch.
Send us your flight details at least 3 days before you arrive so we can book your transfer.
Hidden costs most schools don’t mention
The course fee is rarely the whole story. These are the extras to plan for, whichever school you choose:
- Yoga Alliance registration — US$115 in year one. After graduating you can register as an RYT 200. Yoga Alliance charges a one-time US$50 application fee plus US$65 a year in membership dues (Yoga Alliance). It’s optional, but many studios ask for it.
- Travel and medical insurance — roughly €40–€100 for a month. Not included in any course fee we know of. Make sure it covers yoga and scooter use if you plan to ride one.
- Local transport — €30–€80. Taxis or a rented scooter for Sunday trips to Mandrem, Morjim or Querim beach.
- Personal spending — €100–€250. Cafés, fresh juice, laundry, SIM card, toiletries and souvenirs.
- Yoga kit — €0–€60. Bring your own mat and comfortable clothes, or buy cheaply in Arambol.
- Vaccinations and pharmacy — varies. Check with your doctor or travel clinic before you fly.
- Currency and card fees. Use Wise or a no-fee travel card for your course balance and ATM withdrawals.
What you won’t pay extra for at Diksha: meals, accommodation, the manual, certification, Wi-Fi, local excursions or your airport transfer. They’re all in the fee.

Best time to train, and how to keep costs down
Our course fee is the same in every month, but your travel costs aren’t. April and May batches are the cheapest overall: the 30-day e-visa drops to US$10 and flights to Goa are usually lower once peak season ends.
| Batch months | Weather in Arambol | Cost of travel |
| Nov – Feb | Dry, sunny, cooler evenings | Highest (peak season, holidays) |
| March | Warm and dry | Moderate |
| April – May | Hot and humid; practice set for cooler hours | Lowest (cheaper visa and flights) |
| June – Sept | Monsoon; no residential courses | — |
Five ways to save:
- Choose a twin-shared room and save €200.
- Pick an April or May batch for the cheaper visa and lower fares.
- Book flights early, especially for December and January.
- Choose an all-inclusive course so meals and transfers don’t add up separately.
- Pay with Wise or a no-fee card to avoid exchange-rate mark-ups.
