How to Reach Arambol from Goa Airport Taxi, Bus & Cost?
Quick answer: the easiest way to reach Arambol from Goa airport is to fly into Mopa (GOX), about 30 km and 45–60 minutes away, and take a pre-booked or app taxi for roughly ₹1,500–₹2,500. From Dabolim (GOI), about 75–80 km away, the taxi takes 2–2.5 hours and costs more. Buses are much cheaper but slow, with at least one change. Students on our 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in Goa get free airport pickup from either airport.
Arambol is at the quiet northern tip of Goa, which is why it’s such a good place to study yoga, but it also means it’s the furthest beach from the old airport. This guide covers every way to get there in 2026–27: taxis, app cabs, government buses and trains, with times, approximate costs and tips for arriving safely.

Mopa or Dabolim: which Goa airport is better for Arambol?
Mopa is better for Arambol. It’s North Goa’s newer airport, officially Manohar International Airport, and it’s less than half the distance of Dabolim. Choose Dabolim only if its flight is much cheaper or fits your schedule better.
| Mopa (GOX) | Dabolim (GOI) | |
| Distance to Arambol | About 30 km | About 75–80 km |
| Time by car | 45–60 minutes | 2–2.5 hours |
| Taxi fare (approx.) | ₹1,500 – ₹2,500 | ₹2,500 – ₹3,500 |
| Cheapest bus option | Kadamba shuttle to Mapusa, then local bus | Kadamba shuttle to Panaji, then 2 local buses |
| Best for | Almost everyone heading to Arambol | Cheaper or better-timed flights, South Goa stays |
Many airlines now fly to Mopa, but others still use Dabolim. Check the airport code on your ticket: GOX is Mopa, GOI is Dabolim. Both are simply called “Goa” on many booking sites.
Mopa Airport to Arambol: taxi, app cab or bus
By taxi (recommended)
A taxi is the simplest way from Mopa to Arambol: about 45–60 minutes door to door.
- Pre-booked transfer: online transfer sites list a standard sedan from Mopa to Arambol from about US$24 (around ₹2,000) one way, including tolls and waiting time. Your driver meets you in arrivals with a name sign.
- GoaMiles app or airport taxi counter: book inside the terminal at the official counter or through the GoaMiles app. Expect roughly ₹1,500–₹2,500 depending on car size and time of day.
- Avoid touts. Don’t accept rides from people approaching you inside or outside the terminal. Use the official counter, the app or your pre-booked driver.
By bus (cheapest, but slow)
There’s no direct bus from Mopa to Arambol. The cheapest route needs one change:
- Take the Kadamba A/C shuttle from Mopa Airport to Mapusa bus stand. The official maximum fare is ₹150.
- At Mapusa, change to a local bus to Arambol (often via Siolim and Mandrem). Fares are usually under ₹100.
This takes about 2–3 hours in total, depending on connections, and is hard work with a big suitcase. It makes sense only if you’re travelling very light on a tight budget and arrive in daylight.

Dabolim Airport to Arambol: taxi or bus
By taxi (recommended)
From Dabolim, Arambol is a long drive north: about 62–80 km depending on the route, so allow 2–2.5 hours, more in evening traffic.
- Prepaid taxi counter: Dabolim has a government-run prepaid taxi counter outside the arrivals hall. You pay a fixed fare up front, so there’s no haggling.
- GoaMiles app: often cheaper than the counter. Book once you’ve collected your luggage.
- Pre-booked transfer: online transfer sites list a sedan from about US$32 (around ₹2,700) one way.
- Budget roughly ₹2,500–₹3,500 in total, depending on car size and time of day.
By bus (cheapest, but long)
There’s no direct bus, and the trip needs two or three changes:
- Take the Kadamba A/C shuttle from Dabolim Airport to Panaji. The official maximum fare is ₹150.
- From Panaji bus stand, take a local bus to Mapusa.
- From Mapusa, take a local bus to Arambol.
Allow 3.5–4.5 hours in total. It’s only worth it if you’re on a very tight budget, travelling light and arriving early in the day.
Reaching Arambol by train
If you’re already travelling in India, the train is a comfortable and cheap way to reach North Goa. There are two useful stations on the Konkan Railway:
| Station | Distance to Arambol | Good for |
| Pernem | About 15–20 km | The closest station, but fewer trains stop here |
| Thivim | About 30–35 km | Most long-distance trains stop here, including from Mumbai |
From either station, take a taxi or auto-rickshaw to Arambol. Expect roughly ₹600–₹1,000 from Pernem and ₹1,000–₹1,500 from Thivim; agree the fare before you set off.
Tip: book Konkan Railway trains early for December and January, when seats sell out quickly around the holidays.

Arrival tips for yoga students
- Arriving at night? Take a pre-booked transfer or the official taxi counter rather than buses. Local buses thin out in the evening, and the roads to Arambol are dark.
- Get cash at the airport. Both airports have ATMs in arrivals. Some taxis and most small cafés in Arambol prefer cash.
- Buy a local SIM or eSIM so you can use the GoaMiles app and WhatsApp your driver or school. Have your passport ready, because Indian SIM cards need ID.
- Only use official taxis. Use the counter, the app or your pre-booked driver, and ignore anyone offering a ride inside the terminal.
- Agree the fare first for auto-rickshaws and taxis from train stations, which don’t use meters.
- Save your destination offline. Note “The Lotus Sutra, Arambol Beach” in your phone in case you lose signal.
- Plan your first day. Long-haul flights often land late at night or early in the morning. Arriving the day before your course starts gives you time to rest.
