50 Hour Breathwork and Pranayama Teacher Training in Koh Samui, Thailand

Who This Breathwork Training in Thailand Is For

No advanced practice or teaching certificate is required. If you are curious about the breath and ready to practise daily, this course will meet you where you are. It is a great fit for:

  • Yoga teachers adding depth and confidence to their pranayama teaching
  • Yoga and meditation practitioners who want to understand breath beyond the basics
  • Wellness professionals such as coaches, therapists and massage practitioners
  • Aspiring breathwork facilitators looking for a structured foundation
  • Sincere beginners who prefer a guided, step-by-step introduction
  • Travellers who want to combine meaningful study with time on a tropical island

Groups stay small, so you receive personal feedback throughout. The course is taught in English and is open to students aged 18 and over.

What You’ll Learn in the 50 Hour Pranayama Teacher Training

The course weaves classical yogic knowledge together with modern breath science. You won’t just collect techniques: you’ll understand the purpose of each one, how to prepare for it, and when it is (and isn’t) appropriate.

1. Traditional Pranayama

Practise the core breathing techniques of the yogic tradition with correct preparation and technique:

  • Balancing: Nadi Shodhana (alternate-nostril breathing), Surya Bhedana and Chandra Bhedana
  • Energising: Kapalabhati and Bhastrika
  • Calming and cooling: Ujjayi, Bhramari, Sheetali and Sheetkari
  • Breath retention (kumbhaka), introduced gradually and safely

2. Conscious Breathwork

Experience contemporary breathing methods, including diaphragmatic breathing, slow conscious breathing, relaxation and grounding breaths, energising practices, guided breathwork and conscious connected breathing. You’ll learn how they relate to classical pranayama, so you can choose the right practice for each person.

3. Breath Anatomy & Physiology

Build a clear understanding of how breathing works: the respiratory system, the diaphragm and supporting muscles, and how breathing patterns influence the nervous system, stress and relaxation.

4. Prana & Yogic Philosophy

Discover the traditional yogic view of prana (life energy) and the nadis (energy channels), and how breath connects body, energy and awareness.

5. Breath & Meditation

Use the breath as a gateway to concentration and stillness. Daily meditation helps the practices settle into your own life, not just your notebook.

6. Teaching Breathwork

Learn to guide others clearly and responsibly through demonstrations, peer teaching and feedback:

  1. Plan and structure a full breathwork or pranayama class
  2. Sequence practices with safe progression
  3. Give clear verbal instructions and demonstrations
  4. Observe students and adapt for different levels and needs
  5. Create a calm, supportive space and find your own teaching voice

Safety runs through every module: contraindications, when to modify or avoid a technique, and how to respect each student’s individual circumstances.
